The press feeder's primary responsibility is to provide on-going support to the operator before, during and following each job run. 


  • Review the press run schedule with the operator and ensure that all required stock has been brought to the press for at least the next 5 jobs or more as may be realistic depending on volume.
  • Read all job dockets carefully to understand specifications and clarify with press supervisor when required.
  • Ensure that all required press plates have been prepared and brought to the press otherwise obtain them from the plating dept.
  • Check that the Inks are as per specs. & fill ink fountains as required using all required PPE's
  • Verify that stock is correct and pile in preparation of the job run.
  • Manually flip stock as required.
  • Assist the Press Operator with the coating requirements.
  • Clean ink fountains as required throughout the day.
  • Support any proofing as required by the press supervisor.
  • Notify the operator if any mechanical defects or hazards are evident. Do not operate equipment where a hazard exists.
  • At the end of the job run, remove all printed products to the holding area for the next process.
  • Monitor the chemistry inventory and notify management when supplies need to be re-ordered.
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Minimum High school education
  • 5 years' experience press feeding
  • Strong knowledge of printing substrates and HUV press capabilities
  • Computer skills are an asset
