POSITION SUMMARY:

The General Equipment Operators/Sorters/Helpers will perform any combination of support tasks associated with the Direct Mail services provided by the letter-shop department.  These individuals receive all job instructions and direct supervision of their daily tasks by the department Foreman or the Senior Ink Jet Set-Up/ Operator.  Equipment used in the assigned tasks will include the Ink-jetting, Inserting and Tipping equipment.  All processes handled must be in strict accordance with Lowe-Martin's standards for both Quality & Quantity and all Health & Safety Standards must be adhered to without exception

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Receive, review all assigned job instructions from the Foreman or Senior Ink-Jet Operator
  • Prepare all required containers, covers, tags, skid tags & mono and have available for the job being output.
  • Check for language split (English/French) and ensure that all information is completely understood.
  • Perform machine set-up according to instructions and job specifications.
  • Where assigned, complete the Operator's Pre-use sheet to ensure that all operating components are in good working condition
  • Perform the Quality Control procedure and continue this process through the run, verifying quality and watching for blanks
  • Handle any other related responsibility to support the workflow of the department.
  • Where Preventative Maintenance is assigned, complete all logs to document process

 

MUST HAVES:

  • High school certificate
  • Working knowledge of the English language both written & oral
  • Min. 3 years' experience in Letter-shop equipment operation and processes
  • Bindery process experience an asset
